The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, met today with representatives of several organizations of the Ukrainian community in our country. The discussion focused on the issues faced by the Ukrainian minority in Moldova, as well as on the new challenges that have arisen with the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
The Head of State thanked the Ukrainian community for actively engaging with citizens across the country to help those fleeing the war. As for the next steps to support the refugees, President Maia Sandu mentioned the importance of schooling the more than 40 thousand minors from Ukraine who are currently in the Republic of Moldova. Representatives of the Ukrainian community thanked the citizens and authorities of our country for their solidarity with the refugees. They mentioned that the employment of those fleeing the war would be an effective solution for their integration.
